Cruise to a Michelin Star 27 July 2014

Our early evening cruise started at 5.30pm at The Boat House, 16 Classics and 3 moderns took a leisurely drive via two check points and questions to finish at a car show in the spectacular surroundings of Castell Son Claret in Capdella.

After home made lemonade and a good look around the cars, 38 of us sat down under the stars to enjoy a three course meal prepared by Fernando Perez Arellano who holds a Michelin Star at the hotel’s Zaranda restaurant.

Everyone entered into the spirit of the event, dressing up to reflect the period of their car. Three teams answered all the questions correctly, the girls team of Pam and Sophie, Peter and Glynis Lansdale and Ann and Paddy Pigden.

The tie breaker was decided on the best period costume of the three teams and the overall winner was Pam Gardner and her navigator Sophie. The spirit of the Event Award went to Elmar and Irene Buschmann who drove directly from work at the other end of the island and had made a great effort to dress up to match their 1969 Mercedes 280SL.

See you at another event soon, Jane and Robert Klevenhagen
