This month’s Car Run was held on the 29th October and was organised by committee members Stan Hunter and Pam Gardner. It was a stunning day and just the right temperature for both us and our classic cars!

We all met up in Porto Portals for a chat and to get the route instructions for the day before setting off on our drive with a total of 19 cars. It was a wonderful route taking us on some lovely country roads first heading to the south coast where most of us stopped for a coffee in Sant Elm. With several new members on the drive, some new to the island too, it was an area they had not been to before and what a great way to discover it. Maybe it was not always the best idea to follow someone they thought knew where they were going though as there were a few wrong turns! From Sant Elm we headed inland towards Andratx town, Es Capdella, Calvia then onto the restaurant outside of Esporles.                                 

Lunch was at the Restaurant de Canet serving traditional Spanish food with lots of it in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Stan & Pam had devised some questions along the route for those that wanted to take part in the competition side of the drive. There were 6 cars that had all the questions correct so there was a tie question set to determine the winners. The winners were: in first place, it was Alan and Linda Walker, in second place were new members Michael & Angela Dawson and in third place were Eric Woolger and Pera. Congratulations to you all.
