Almond Blossom Rally 31 January 2016

Yet again Jean Pierre Allemann produced a fabulous rally for us, meandering through the centre of the island. The sun was shining and after an exceptionally mild winter this year, the almond blossom was in full bloom.  Twenty two cars took part ranging from MG’s, Austin Healeys, Jaguars and american muscle cars.

This year we had a special treat of stopping at one of the island’s award winning olive oil producers to sample some of their wonderful oil and wine. Jornets is a jewel and situated a few miles south of Inca. As a family, they have been growing and producing the finest olive oil for six centuries.

From there , we travelled in convoy to Restaurant Sa Cuina De N’Aina in Sencelles, where 47 of us sat down to eat a tasty three course lunch. Along the way, we had to collect a sprig of blossom from one of the many trees and answer a few observational questions.

Thank you  to Jean Pierre for once again coming up with an original idea for our rallies. We look forward to the next year already!!
