As The Crow Flies 28 February 2016

What a fantastic day was enjoyed by all!
A very big thank you goes to Gordon Cox and co-pilot Mark who organised a superb rally for us. The weather threatened to dampen our enthusiasm but thankfully cleared by mid morning into a bright and sunny day.
We met at Festival Park as usual and set off at one minute intervals. This treasure hunt themed rally involved following the tulip directions and finding the hidden crows at various locations en route. Each crow gave us a letter of the alphabet which formed an anagram of a famous make and model of car. Fifteen letters were available and those who managed to spot all fifteen formed the winning words ALPHA ROMEO GIULIA. From Maratxi we were directed to the beautiful monument of San Salvador near Felanitx. Here our tasting skills were put to the test. We had to blind taste three red wines and identify them in price order.
From here we were lead to a little back lane, where we were asked to count the number of crows hanging from the trees. There were 66 in total!
Only those driving their classic cars were eligible to win. Ray and Sue Dodd in their Jaguar XK150 were in third place, narrowly beaten by Nick Scantelbury in second. The winners were Malcolm and Lotta Kelliher in their Triumph TR3 who won a caged bottle of champagne!
Lunch lived up to expectations at the beautiful restaurant of Sa LLotja in Porto Colom. A delicious three course meal with excellent wines were enjoyed by all 38 participants. A place to return to again!!
Thanks again to Gordon and Mark for a truly interesting rally!
