The Big Route 66 Run 29 October 2017

The skies looked a little ominous in the early morning, but the promise of a glorious day ahead saw 28 classic cars meet at Festival Park to take part in the Classic Car Club rally organised by Lorene and Nick Scantlebury on Sunday.

We set off at intervals in the direction of Esporles, answering clues en route and collecting lollipops in an assortment of colours from five locations, all elements counting towards the final results.

The route took us to Banyalbufar past La Granja, then onto the spectacular north coast road which hugs the Tramuntana hundreds of meters above the sea. The views stretching as far as Dragonera to the west. After a spectacular drive via the picturesque village of Estellencs, we found the answer to our final clue in Andratx town and then headed to a well earned and delicious lunch at the Club de Vela in Port d’Andratx.

The winners
1st place: Peter and Elsa Dinsing in their Austin Healey. The runners up: Richard Nunn and Lisa Markert in their E-type and in 3rd place: Pedro and Anne Alomar in their Tatra.
